The name Lekaya draws from the word “kaya,” the beloved coconut jam that feels like home to many in Singapore. It also carries a deeper nod to heritage - inspired by the first initials of Lee Kuan Yew, reflecting the founder’s pride in being a Singapore born brand.

Lekaya represents more than a place of origin. It’s a feeling of warmth, nostalgia, confidence, and identity, rooted in the belief that great fashion should last beyond trends, moments, and seasons.

The founder had a difficult time finding dreamy, well-made evening wear that truly fit the Asian silhouette in Singapore, especially at a price that felt fair and accessible. With a background in fashion design, and business management, she has spent years studying both the creative and commercial sides of the industry.

What started as a curiosity became something bigger when she began designing garments in her spare time.. Her designs focused on romantic silhouettes, premium fabrics, and thoughtful construction.

Along the journey, she connected with a small production team of passionate makers who believed in her vision. A group of artisans who were excited and genuinely happy to collaborate with her on creating LEKAYA’s first ever drop. That moment marked a turning point: a shared belief that fashion could be soft, intentional, and beautifully crafted, yet still premium and affordable, timeless and wearable, confident and comfortable. And so, the first drop began to take shape.. not rushed, not loud, just dreamy and thoughtful.
